RI

Okay so I never thought I would say this but I miss Rhode Island terribly! I miss my job, our friends, our little apartment, our swamp aka the pond, our many adventures around New England, our ward, the OCEAN, the trees, the New England style homes, the accent haha okay maybe not the accent. I miss Bob and Timmy's, dough boys, Newport, Sail boats, Shaws, Trader Joe's, water fires, Emerald honey roasted peanuts (the only place i've ever seen them is at price right). Rhode Island treated us well. Live it up out there all our fellow Rhode Islanders!

Paris, le voyage d'une vie

In May Mike and I took the trip of a lifetime! I've always dreamed about going to Paris, he made it happen just for me! We found a good deal on tickets and on a whim we booked it! First stop Versailles!
Right off the train

First of many baguettes mmm

Palace
Marie Antoinette's Estate

We spent two days in Versaille, next we were off to Belgium. Our train left at 1:30 so we got our things together and went to the train station. When we got there we couldn't find our train anywhere, it didn't show up on the departures board. We were getting a little nervous so we went to the ticket counter. Well she tells us our train left at 11:30. Ahhh we were going to have to pay 200 dollars for new train tickets. Lukily Fatima (ticket counter lady) felt bad for us and didn't make us pay the hefty bill! So we were on our way at last to Antwerp Belgium!

Some crazy photo bombed us.(Antwerp train station)

Okay so Belgium has THE best waffles. I crave them everyday

Our hotel rooftop
Belgium was so amazing. The people were nice the waffles were one of the best things i've ever eaten in my life. While we were here we just kind of explored the city. We didn't have much time here, so someday I would definitely go back to spend more time. Now to Amsterdam!

Just a brochure to select the right weed for you. hehe

The clog making factory. Yes we saw how clogs are made  and yes I got me a pair!

Windmills in Zaanse Schans

We went and toured the Anne Frank house. Most amazing thing ever.

We loved Amsterdam we had so much fun here. We stayed at the brand new double tree hotel which was awesome! City views for miles! We walked up and down the canals. We Went to Zaanse Shans where all the windmills are, and the clog factory! Believe it or not people still wear clogs. We walked through the red light district a few times which is something everyone needs to see! It was crazy. Amsterdam is the only place where you'll find Coffee shops that are actually Weed shops and men window shop for women on the street! haha what a city right!

Mike's got good jumps

From the top of the Eiffel Tower

Moulin Rouge

Paris was our last stop. By far my FAVORITE ever! I need to go back i'm missing it so much! We got right to business when we arrived. We were on our way to Champs Elysees but I caught a glimps of  the Eiffel Tower so nothing else mattered and we made our way over to see it! Ah it was so amazing to see it up close and personal when i've been dreaming of seeing it my whole life. We had a great time. We ate Crepes pastries of every kind too much bread. wait you can never have too much bread! One of our favorite things to do was to buy some baguettes some ham and cheese and snarf it down! We spent one night out on the town. We had dinner on the Seine River, went to the Eiffel Tower and got to go to the top, then to the Moulin Rouge! Best vacation ever can't wait to go back!

Summer time is here! wahoo

If you know me then you know I LOVE summer. It's the best time of the year especially when you have Boston, New York, and the beach all right around the corner! We've already been having the best summer ever! Starting off right a much needed one last trip to Boston with Kim! We had full intentions of getting a picture in the city, this is what we got haha. Also we had our first beach trip of the summer! It was perfect weather I already am itching to go back! Next stop......PARIS!!

Some recent adventures

Back in April miss Kim Edwards invited a bunch of us girls to take on the challenge of running across Rhode Island. I thought in my head "no way am I doing that" well I did (minus a few miles)  We ran 3 miles a day it took about a month but I am so glad I did this. It was actually fun we had a good time! I wish I had more pictures of our run. We ran through the city, on the side of a busy road, at one point we had a police officer direct cars out of our way. Once we got through the busy parts our run was beautiful.
This was an old school house we stumbled upon. So crazy to think how old things are out here
Made it to Connecticut

After this run we wanted to do a run run all together, Kim had the idea of running the cliff walk in Newport  3.5 miles so we did it a couple weeks ago. I died luckily we had pretty views!

Treating ourselves to a nice lunch after a 5K
Views from our run
All of us Kim Lori Marissa Linsi Melissa Julie and me
So much fun! I will miss these lovely ladies when we move!
I was an idiot and left my car keys in the starting car so Kim and I attempted to hitch hike back to the car but chickened out, a little lady overheard us talking and gave us a ride haha she saved the day.

Drunkin' man at Maverick

I came across this picture the other day and just had to share...

Let me explain. So a few years ago while I was living in St. George my friend Nikki and I went to this Maverick to get some snacks because we were hungry. We were the only ones in the gas station probably because it was pretty late. Well we were at the check out my card wasn't swiping so the cashier had to try using a bag to swipe, anyways as I was standing there waiting I see this big truck driving full speed not looking like he's going to slow down to park. Sure enough a couple seconds later the truck comes barricading through the walls into the store. Nikki and I screamed ran to the back of the store, (luckily we weren't anywhere close to this maniac) We see the man getting out of the truck. The cashier yells to us to get back into the back room where they take there breaks I'm guessing. So as we are running into the room we hear the guy ask if the Hilton  Hotel is around. Um you just crashed into a gas station and could have killed someone and you're asking where the Hilton is!! Haha, as we were "hiding" we were pretty scared, we were   only 18 at the time just babies. We kept thinking of the worst. *what if he has a gun,* what if he tries hurting us* What if he runs away* on and on. Well the cops showed up he was arrested for drunk driving. (we found this out by looking at the bookings online, which I was addicted to when living there) We filled out a police report and were on our way. The picture isn't a very good one I took it from my car because the cops were all still there, but he went through the big window where it's taped up. Pretty crazy night. Just fun old St. George memories. Crazy thing is a couple nights later we had to call the police on a bum in a Little Ceasers threatening people that he had a knife and wouldn't let anyone out of the Little Ceaser's but that's a whole other blog post. Stay tuned

JoeBro

Three years ago today my best friend was killed in an accident. People say men and women can't be "just friends" but, I'm proof that they can! He was my best friend, the brother my sisters and I never had. It's been hard without him but I know that I will get to see him again. Love you Joe.

One lucky man!

So this week my soon to be brother in law was buried alive in an avalanche. Luckily he was wearing the vest parachute thing that saved his life! Here is the link to the story. So glad he's okay!
