Summer time is here! wahoo

If you know me then you know I LOVE summer. It's the best time of the year especially when you have Boston, New York, and the beach all right around the corner! We've already been having the best summer ever! Starting off right a much needed one last trip to Boston with Kim! We had full intentions of getting a picture in the city, this is what we got haha. Also we had our first beach trip of the summer! It was perfect weather I already am itching to go back! Next stop......PARIS!!

Some recent adventures

Back in April miss Kim Edwards invited a bunch of us girls to take on the challenge of running across Rhode Island. I thought in my head "no way am I doing that" well I did (minus a few miles)  We ran 3 miles a day it took about a month but I am so glad I did this. It was actually fun we had a good time! I wish I had more pictures of our run. We ran through the city, on the side of a busy road, at one point we had a police officer direct cars out of our way. Once we got through the busy parts our run was beautiful.

Made it to Connecticut

After this run we wanted to do a run run all together, Kim had the idea of running the cliff walk in Newport  3.5 miles so we did it a couple weeks ago. I died luckily we had pretty views!

Drunkin' man at Maverick

I came across this picture the other day and just had to share...

Let me explain. So a few years ago while I was living in St. George my friend Nikki and I went to this Maverick to get some snacks because we were hungry. We were the only ones in the gas station probably because it was pretty late. Well we were at the check out my card wasn't swiping so the cashier had to try using a bag to swipe, anyways as I was standing there waiting I see this big truck driving full speed not looking like he's going to slow down to park. Sure enough a couple seconds later the truck comes barricading through the walls into the store. Nikki and I screamed ran to the back of the store, (luckily we weren't anywhere close to this maniac) We see the man getting out of the truck. The cashier yells to us to get back into the back room where they take there breaks I'm guessing. So as we are running into the room we hear the guy ask if the Hilton  Hotel is around. Um you just crashed into a gas station and could have killed someone and you're asking where the Hilton is!! Haha, as we were "hiding" we were pretty scared, we were   only 18 at the time just babies. We kept thinking of the worst. *what if he has a gun,* what if he tries hurting us* What if he runs away* on and on. Well the cops showed up he was arrested for drunk driving. (we found this out by looking at the bookings online, which I was addicted to when living there) We filled out a police report and were on our way. The picture isn't a very good one I took it from my car because the cops were all still there, but he went through the big window where it's taped up. Pretty crazy night. Just fun old St. George memories. Crazy thing is a couple nights later we had to call the police on a bum in a Little Ceasers threatening people that he had a knife and wouldn't let anyone out of the Little Ceaser's but that's a whole other blog post. Stay tuned

Three years ago today my best friend was killed in an accident. People say men and women can't be "just friends" but, I'm proof that they can! He was my best friend, the brother my sisters and I never had. It's been hard without him but I know that I will get to see him again. Love you Joe.

 So this week my soon to be brother in law was buried alive in an avalanche. Luckily he was wearing the vest parachute thing that saved his life! Here is the link to the story. So glad he's okay!

New York

I love New York during Christmas and I really really wanted to go before we went home for Christmas. Luckily Mike was in NYC for work and I didn't work the weekend so I took the bus down so we could spend the weekend! Lucky for us we have some very generous friends who live downtown in Battery Park. They let us crash there for the weekend! It was my first time in a New York City apartment. I loved it, so cute and small. They have an amazing view from there roof deck see below....

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

So I got there Friday night, Mike picked me up and we headed to Soho to meet Brian for dinner. After we just went back to the apartment and went to sleep. Saturday we walked outside to see a gazillion Santa Clauses. I guess it was Santa Con, not too many people can say they were in New York during Santa Con. Haha actually, it was kind of annoying, every street corner there was a drunken Santa. We took the subway to the Brooklyn Bridge and walked halfway across.

We then went to China Town. It actually felt as if we were in China. A group of Chinamen were playing some Chinese instruments and another Chinamen singing along. haha funny sight. Another group of people were up doing some ti chi. We walked around a little while longer then headed to Hawkers for dinner! Of course we had to eat at Hawkers duh.

The food was okay, best part about it was we got 15 percent off for having the last name! Next we went to Magnolia's bakery in the West Village. Mike had been raving about the banana pudding all week long so of course we had to go. Well he had every right to rave about it. OMG it was amazing best I have ever tasted. It's famous from Sex and the City. They would go there all the time in the show. MMM just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I have to tell you the West Village is were I would LOVE to live. It is so beautiful in a New York City kind of way. It's were all the famous and insanely rich people live. Like the Carrie Bradshaw neighborhoods. Next we went to Washington Square I had never been before and I really wanted to check it out.

Then off to Rockefeller to check out the tree!

So much fun! I fell in love with the city this weekend. Thanks to my husband who knows his way around, otherwise I would never see as much as I have! He's the best!

FRIENDSSSS

Yay! Mike and I have been waiting for a year now for some friends! Finally a bunch moved into the ward all at once we were so happy they are the best! We have had so much fun with them and are so happy to get some new friends!

White Elephant/ugly sweater party! Sarita and Jesse were kind enough to host this shin-dig. We had lots of fun.

Duck Pin Bowling. Yep, We weren't very good at it but we plan to go a lot so we are all pros!
